Chapter 5: Rise above your fears
The mother teaches her son about the value of challenges and resilience. She reassures him that even in her absence, her love and lessons will guide him.
On a bright morning, sunlight peeking through the curtains, the boy's eyes fluttered open. He yawned and stretched his arms and legs, his heart filled with excitement. It was his 5th birthday. His mother, with a twinkle in her eyes and a loving smile, gently took his hand and led him to the surprise she had waiting outside. The boy saw a new bicycle and he gasped in delight. He said,
A shiny bicycle, oh, just for me,
Heart so light, wild and free.
Tears in my eyes, fear holds so tight,
What if I fall, can I still rise?
The boy sat on the curb, tears streaming down his face. He recalled the time he fell off his brother's bicycle, scraping his knees and elbows. His mother knelt down beside him and put her arm around him, letting him cry. When he calmed down, she said.
Falling's a part of the ride,
Learning's our goal, time's our guide.
Sun may set, then rise with cheer,
Through each fall, you conquer fear.
The boy's eyes widened, his thoughts racing like a river. He hesitated, then looked up at his mother, his heart seeking answers. In fear he mumbles,
I might trip, or stumble, or fall,
I am scared, but that isn't all.
Fear grips me tight, oh so tight,
My courage fades, out of sight.
The mother's eyes sparkled, memories of her own childhood and the lessons life had woven, as delicate as a whisper in the breeze. Cupping the boy's face, her voice, a melodic river, gently flowed forth.
Sunsets fade, and mornings ignite,
Each tumble's a step, no need for fright.
My dear, come close, and take my hand,
Falling's not the end, up you'll stand.
The boy's fear began to fade away, a glimmer of hope lit up inside him, much like a tiny firefly in the dark. His mother's words wrapped around him like a warm hug, lighting up his path ahead, just like a guiding star in the night sky.
Falling is fine, we learn, we try,
With your help, I'll touch the sky.
I will stand, rise tall, without any fear,
Knowing you're close, each step seems clear.
Under the open sky, the mother gently lifted her son onto the bicycle seat. Patiently positioned his hands on the handlebars and straightened his posture. With a soft push, accompanied by the soothing melody of the breeze, she began to etch the boy's heart with a treasure of knowledge,
Expect the storm, stay calm and bright,
Bravery and kindness, be your guiding light.
In tough times, hold your head up high,
Believe in yourself, reach for the sky.
Like a river, with its fierce flow,
Expect challenges as you grow.
Just like earth, be grounded and strong,
Let your little heart, sing a sweet song.
One day, my dear, I won't be near,
But in your heart, always I'm here.
Remember my words, as you pedal, roam,
You'll find strength, even when alone.
This is a part of the book that I am writing for my son, whose name is Ishaan Inlakesh. Inlakesh means I am you, You are me, in mayan language, A beautiful philosophy.
